Political Turmoil – 10 / 2020 25 October 2020

Friends & Critics –Few wards on happenings in EAST OF LADDAKH & GALWAN VELLY Four months violent face-offs, increasing points of military conflict, intensifying military build-up, banning of 177 Chinese apps, check on Chinese investments by India, and an inconclusive meeting between the defense ministers of India and China on September 4 in Moscow. Is an India-China war inevitable? The questions is uppermost in many minds. a) Military view – A 1967 NATHULA Another flashpoint was Nathula a mountain pass in Sikkim (then a kingdom, but an Indian protectorate)-sandwiched between Bhutan, Chinese-ruled Tibet and Nepal. During a series of clashes in Nathu La and Cho La, Some 80 Indian soldiers died. Idnia counted up to 400 Chinese casualties. b) 1975 TULUNG LA– This skirmish was the last time shots were officially fired across the border and four Indian soldiers were ambushed and killed. Recently, Chinese troops abducted five hunters from the Nacho area, the last administrative circle along the McMahon Line in Arunachal Pradesh. c) Other Reasons – China has not fought a war in over four decades. Under the circumstances, where China stands internationally isolated. India certainly isn’t keen to escalate the situation. d) Most Important – by occupying the heights, India has improved its bargaining position. It may be tough for the PLA to accept. The heights are occupied by no less then SFF Troops. Special force created in 1963 to capture TIBET only. Which is part of RAW. Possible Solution – A summit is to be called between MODI and XI. No egos. May be organized at a neutral place like – Nepal – Bangladesh – Sri Lanka or even Singapore. Agenda – suggested. “Let-us define the LAC. Withdrawal of the troops to pre April – 2020 dates. Create a no conflict Zone. Even ff required compromise economic bans imposed by India”. We have to be very bold and not be involved in Chest Thumping. Snippets A- India will not cede even an inch of territory: Says Rajnath Singh. RM of India B- Peace along LAC disturbed impacted India-China ties. Border issue is A very Complicated and Difficult Matter: Says jaishankar FM of Idnia.
