Oxygen supplies are depleted. Health care workers are stretched beyond all comprehension. When I visited a state-run hospital in Mumbai on April 18, I saw a nurse sitting on the staircase with her head in her hands. She did not wish to be named, but said she herself was recovering from COVID-19. Her request for leave had been denied three times and she wished she could resign, but her family of six depends on her. “This is hell, you tell me, is this not?” She said. The crisis had many authors. Responsibility lies with the sycophantic Cabinet Ministers who praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for successfully dealing with COVID-19 in India after last year’s initial surge, even as testing slowed down and allowed people to become more complacent about the virus. But above all, responsibility lie with Modi, who calls himself the servant of 1.3 billion Indians, yet who has criminally abdicated his duties. This is a moment when the country needs answers. Yet when Modi finally addressed the nation on April 20 about a crisis already out of control, he merely warned states that a lockdown should be considered a last resort, and urged young people to form committees to ensure COVID-19 protocols are being followed. The address to the nation received a lukewarm response as the Prime Minister offered no immediate relief to the country. Many Indians called out the Prime Minister’s failure to take accountability, but by this time it was clear that no such message was coming. And certainly not to exceed 18%. This Would ensure larger sales thus ensuring more GST collection for the exchequer. d) RBI is supposed to be a Central Bank, to be an independent body. Basic objective is to regulate the monitory policy. Now it appears to be a Govt. Bank ? e) Similarly SC has become a govt. dictated body, like the President of India. Often opposition leaders are wasting their time to approach the president for various appeal which is of no consequences. f) The US elections (specially Donald Trump followed Indian way) He had conceived that he is their only to – win come what may. After doing his full tenure he was further kicked-up to mess the affairs of the whole of defense forces. And he is bent upon fingering the pension’s of the Armed Forces. I suggest that the govt. should seriously first consider rationalizing the pension being offered to the elected representatives. a) For legislative representatives – Pension only if a person complete five tenures in the assembly. b) For MP’s – Only if an individual completes minimum two continues tenures or a total of three tenures as MP’s. c) MLA’s & MP’s PAYS should be reduced by 50%. Other allowances should be reduced by 75%. d) It would be also logical to lay down certain educational qualifications. Even for Peon, Drivers, Mali, Guard, Safaiwala’s, and all 4th class post Some qualifications are laid down. e) The Govt. can’t temper with the pension benefit to the existing lot. It would be prudent for the govt. to make the entry and exit policies, attractive to draw in right and appropriate levels of candidate into the arms forces. B- On Agri Reforms – If the reforms were so good why ? An ordinance. The proposal should have been put in Loksabha- debated and enacted as a law. With majority in both houses NDA should not have problem. Now a better suggestion is - Repel – and – Renact. C- BJP’s Aim – Every election is to be won – come whatever may happen ?
