Political Turmoil – 03 / 2020 29, March, 2020

Friends & Critics Some Comments
PM Modi Sir you always talked about good governance and less of government some of the thought provoking indicators are :
a)      Your all ideologies are governed by your ideologues and think tank the RSS. All your appointments are dictated and approved by your supreme body the RSS.
b)      The Rioters in Delhi were handled by you and your most trusted HM on the lines of Gujrat.
c)      The right and wrong lessons of Shaheen Bagh – your clam of good governance was shattered yet again by Delhi’s riots.
d)      After Delhi violence, Muslims in India fear. What’s next ? – Stated in Time Magazine March – 23rd.
e)      Blind nationalism not good for India – says Baba Ramdev.
Corona Virus (Covid-19) :
Undoubtedly you as the PM initiated some bold actions for which the whole Nation a supportive and cooperative. However some observation
(a)                First Case in India was reported on 30th January 2020 if the actions had been initiated earlier, say by 15th February 2020 may be we would have been better placed.
(b)                             Movement of migrant laborers should have been anticipated planned in a systematic manner.

Political Turmoil – 02 / 2020 16, February, 2020

Friends & Critics Some Comments
A)    CAA impacts different sections of Indians negatively. Opposition parties’ task is to bring them together. - It is not so obvious that all Indians citizens have citizenship papers and proof of residencies. Shah’s promise to make NRC following the very failed experience in Assam, only makes for a situation where the poorest of the Indian poor are losing their citizenship. - SAYS ATREY D BHARGAVA a- Prof. of Economics.
B)     In 2020, Put people First. Protesters are not urban naxals. Government needs to listen to them. Importantly, the parliamentary committee on Vajpayee’s Citizenship Bill was headed by Congressman Pranab Mukherjee and there was political negotiation and consultation across party lines and across ideological divides. – Says Sagarika Ghose a senior journalist.
C)     Don’t Polarise By Religion. Authorities must listen to the secular and inclusive message coming from anti CAA-NRC protesters. – Says Pavan K Varma Former M.P. a thinker and writer of repute.
D)    Why NRC Must Be shelved. It will be an expensive, Gargantuan, pointless exercise that could trigger civil war in the worst case. – Says Chetan Bhagat a thinker and writer of repute.

Delhi Elections
The recently held elections in Delhi were fought under most acrimonious political environment. For which the ruling dispensation at the centre is responsible.
SUPER DIRECTORS – MO-SHA
MIDDLE LEVEL DIRECTORS – GIRI RAJ SINGH, VIJAY VARGEYA
PERFORMERS – Parvesh Verma (S/o former delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma), Anurag Thakur (S/o Former CM Prem Kumar Dhumal, Himachal Pradesh)., Kapil Mishra A BJP candidate for Model Town, Delhi
Basic Agenda and guidelines were prepared at BJP head quarters. 300 MP’s and Majority of Central Minister’s, Participated in the election campaign. A few selected CM’s of BJP ruled states, most significantly YogiJi from U.P., Intention being to polarize the happenings in the elections. An advise to the ruling dispensation “Get Rid of GANE BAJANE WALA’s and PUJARIES of TEMPLES to be More realistic and offer a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD.

MO-SHA :- You have been very active brought in      (a) – Teen Talaq,         (b) – Abrogation & 35-A in J&K (Literally decimation of J&K from a full status of a State to a UT)         (c)- You succeeded in the battle of RAM MANDIR and you are in the process of Bringing in SCARY – CAA, NRC and NPR.
Highly appreciated but you have completely missed out         (a) Rising Inflation       (b) Farmers Crises       (c) High Rate of Unemployment .
THIS IS HOW A SENIOR AND WELL KNOWN ECONOMIST EXPLAINS – (SWAMINATHAN S AIYAR)
Sliding economy needs serious structural fixes  - When Narendra Modi was re-elected, optimists expected GDP growth to accelerate to 8%. Alas, it is plummeting towards 4% having fallen steadily in the last four quarters – 7%, 6.8%, 5.6% and 5%.
Expect a further fall to almost 4% when the July-September figures come out. The Index of Industrial production was minus 4.3% in September, the worst in a decade, with 17 of 23 industrial categories recording declines. Capital goods output (representing fresh investment declined 20.7%, GDP growth is approaching the 3.9% low of the Great Recession of 2008-09).
One reason is cyclical. The slowing world economy is pulling India down too. But India also has serious structural flaws that will not mend easily, Unless mended, the new growth normal for India may be closer to 5% than the “miracle economy” benchmark of 7%. Former chief economic adviser Arvind Subramanian once theorized that statistical flaws were inflating official GDP growth by 2.5%. He said the distinct slowdown after 2011- an later in four Indicators- exports, imports, electricity and credit growth – suggested GDP growth was between 3.5% and 5.5%, far lower than the official 7%.
In the short run, there is a case for fiscal stimulus. The fiscal deficit can be allowed to rise to anything up to 4% for this year. But history shows how difficult it is to end a stimulus, so caution is needed on this front, In any event we need to focus more on the long-term than short-term issues. Otherwise the days of miracle 7% growth will be over.

PM Modi – 05 (2/2019) 10, November, 2019

Friends & Critics
One hundred and Five Days have lapsed since article 370 was abrogated ! Since then what has happened ? An extract of an article published in Time Magazine of November issue is narrated below.
Kashmir Simmers Between Dueling Nuclear Powers, Crown of India Is Dismembered
It was on August 5, that PM Modi’s Hindu Nationalist Govt. said it would scrap the semiautonomous status that the state of J&K has held under India’s Constitution for Seven Decades part of J&K endured a communication black out and other distractions. 9-10 million people were pushed behind the iron wall. We had never seen anything like this, “Says Anuradha Bhaseen executive editor of Kashmir Times.
If the heavy – handed measures of the curfew were intended to dampen the threat of violence, they succeeded – at least for a time but now that India has begun lifting restrictions on the velley, Kashmiris are bracing for what happens once the clampdown is over. Over the past three decades, Pakistan has backed and funded insurgents in Kashmir where India has responded with troops and brutal measures. A U.N. report in July noted serious abuses by India forces, including extra-judicial killings, torture and pellet-gun blindings. New Delhi dismissed the report as a “false and motivated narrative” (During the recent visit German Chancellor was Critical of happenings in Kashmir- and stated – Unsustainable. Similar Views have been expressed by the head of the Finland Govt. – Both Highly Democratic Countries.)
But while the rhetoric on both side remains hostile, Pakistan can ill afford a full-scale conflict. On October 18 the financial action task force, the global terrorism – finance watch dog, ruled Pakistan would stay on its GREYLIST.
A greater security risk seems to be the anger and resentment simmering within the Valley. Nearly 4,000 people, including politicians, activities and journalists, have been arrested, according to a Sept. 6 Government report seen by Reuters said thousand remain in custody. On Sept. 24, the National Federation of Indian Women highlighted claims that 13,000 boys had been picked up and detained, some for up to 45 days.
On Oct. 11, State government took out a full-page ad on the front page of the newspaper Greater Kashmir. “ ClOSED SHOPS, NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT? WHO BENEFITS?

Friends & Critics
The three issues which are very relevant in today’s environment are :
A-    Climate change – This was the subject on the top of agenda in the UN this year even before the world leaders came and gave their presentation a – 16 year old Swedish Girl Creata gave a very emotional presentation on the state of the climate which is shaping up and expressed her serious concern of the future generations. Making it very clear that the world leaders have done NOTHING to SAVE the future generations. Some comments are  (a)- the devastation of climate change is real. The writer says the weather patterns have been disrupted. It is because we are polluting and – distorting the environment by using natural resources in an unsustainable way. (b) We must be on guard against despair, which is ultimately just another form of denial when the future of humanity is at stake (c) When be look back to the start of the century we are of course, angry that people did so little to slow the great eating. Jacoba Bad in Pakistan has a temperature 52 – 53 centigrade.
B-     Saffronisation – So far it was limited within the society. Now an effort is on to bringing into the uniformed services. The senior and very senior appointments are having a tinge of this. The RSS has already dictated their plan to establishe a military academy to prepare future military leaders. Zia helped in Islamization of the armed forces in the PAK and ruined their professionalism. We have to watch and see this trend of Saffronisation in our contest.
C-     How de MODI – Wah – Wah ? A captive crowd of nearly 40 to 50 thousand were assembled at HOUSTON. Modi Ji your speech sounded like an Indian Election Speech followed by a propaganda for Donald Trump – Abki Ki Bar Trump Sarkar. The whole event was well orchestrated and choreographed. But a US Sikh Police Man (of Indian Origin was killed in US) But you did not make any mention of the same. May be it would have annoyed Donald Trump. Friends and Critics it would be worth while to know that in the same stadium more than 60 thousand people gathered voluntarily to express their grief and solidarity with the slain Sikh and his family members.

Wake up India.

Greetings to All on 150th Birth Anniversary of Father of The Nation MAHATMA GANDHI

PM Sir – Now it has been designated that MSD controls every thing in India. Some would ask what is MSD, denotes Modi, Shah and Doval.
a-      You created so called history on 5th August by abrogating article 370 for the state of J&K.  Giving a hope of eliminating Terrorism, Resettling Kashmiri Pandit’s and also large inflow of funds for development.
b-      You dismantled the crown of India. The state of J&K is divided into 2 Union Territories. They will be directly under the control of MSD.  A total of 4500 people were taken into custody. It is believed that nearly 3000 people have released Top political leader still remain under detention. Thus ensuring Murder of Political Activity in the Valley.
You are Modi Sir very wise You kept the public amused by diverting their attention with “Triple Talak” “Chandrayan – II” “Abrogation of 370” and 5 Trillion economy.
Macro Economic Policies :- You left the task to an inexperienced minister. Who it appears had no inkling to define such policies. As a follow – up She has already presented 5 mini budgets since then. How many more would come is any body’s guess. Even the measures announced will be long term to be effective. The economy continues to be on SI list and soon may land-up in ICU. Macro Economics should have been addressed by the most powerful MSD.

The New Definition of Success. For emerging countries like India 5% is the new 7% the reasonable standard for growth every country needs to think its definition of success. The bench mark for rapped growth should comedown to 1-2 percent for developed economies such as US, and 3-4% for middle income countries such as China. For Emerging Nations as India 5% is the new 7%, The appropriate inspirational standard. Says Ruchir Sharma  - A globally known economist. A comment – So PM Sir don’t Mislead the country man that you will achieve 5 Trillion economy by – 2025. May be this will touch 5 Trillion by 2050 automatically.
Consequences of abrogation : with the Constitution of J& K being rendered infructuous, questions may have arisen about the definition of the territory of J&K, Indi’s Claim to POK. – Says Haseeb A Drabu, Former Finance Minister of J&K

Friends & Critics
Abrogation of article 370 and 35-A  Since the nation is convinced I support this move. But certain aspects need to be considered.
a-      Was it necessary to bring this through a Prudential order ? May be the ruling dispensation was not able to get a foot hold in J&K, there appeared to be the only alternative to the govt.
b-      The crown of India is dismembered. The state of J&K is depilated with two mini UT’s of Jammu & Srinagar, under a Lt. Governor to CM’s will be sucking their thumbs, directly under the Central Govt.
c-      Can we expect investment to come in to the valley ?  The employment generation is a question mark ? When the whole country is facing a economic low !
d-      The present stats on J&K indicates – HDI is above – BPL is better – Health & Education is better – Crime rate is low. If you take state of Gujrat as a yardstick the state of J&K is better than Gujrat.
e-      Started Air Force carrier year 1964 from J&K some indicators are very relevant. Air fields LEH which was PSP and Kacchha Runway now it is 3500 mtr long concrete runway. THOISE was a Kacchha runway. Later on this became 1700 mtr long concrete runway. (When the 1st IL76 landed in January 1987). Now the Thoise runway is 3500 mtr long fully concrete. Even the road from Srinagar to LEH – via Zozila, Dras, Kargil is two lane black top. Looks like an international road into the hills. Similarly ¾ star hotels in KARGIL and LEH are available for tourist. Though the development can always be enhanced. But to say that it remained neglected is far from truth.

The problems can be many but we should wait for at least 6 months to see the changes.
